She brings over 18 years of combined experience in commercial law and private equity, spanning both fund of funds and direct investments across the South African SME and lower mid-market landscape. She has led transactions across a range of sectors and serves as a non-executive director on several South African corporate boards.

Former Investment Executive at WDB Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd (WDBIH) charged with driving the strategy for, implementing, and managing the mid-cap private equity investment portfolio – a completely new asset class for WDBIH. Also responsible for overseeing the management of the WDBIH Enterprise Development Fund.

Former Managing Director at Utho Capital Fund Managers (Pty) Ltd managing the Utho Capital SME Infrastructure Fund, a small niche fund mandated to finance SMEs in the infrastructure development sector, focused on construction and property development in the low-cost residential market.
Her combined investment and commercial legal advisory experience in financial services spans over 20 years. She holds a Master’s degree in Development Finance (Cum Laude), LL.B, and B.A. (Law) degrees attained in 2014, 1999 and 1997 respectively.

Current: Independent non-executive board member at Merchant West Holdings (Pty) Ltd (including Audit & Risk Committee and chair of the Social Ethics Committee) and SAB Foundation.
Former: IC member of IDF Capital, GloCap Empowerment Fund, Sanari Capital (GP Board), AWCA Investment Limited; and member of the SAVCA Transformation Sub-Committee.

Specific food security sector experience:
Combination of investment expertise, sector knowledge, and development impact experience across the food and agriculture value chain, from primary production to processing and FMCG.
Some of the notable transactions worked on at WDB include, Chil Beverages, Cavalier Foods, Dicla Farm & Seeds, Mount Carmel Farms, TerraSan Group, Saldanha Protein, Lupo Bakery.
Has also reviewed numerous non-proprietary opportunities in food, food packaging, primary agriculture, and agri-processing which has sharpened ability to assess market positioning, operational resilience, and supply chain integration in the sector.

Provided strategic oversight to an enterprise development sub-fund aimed at poverty alleviation and food security through agricultural development. The fund invested in 15 female-owned farms in the Nwanedi area of Limpopo’s Vhembe district, providing working capital funding and structured business development support in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and technical partner, TechnoServe. The initiative delivered measurable impact through female participation, job creation, increased local food supply, and, with TechnoServe’s guidance and facilitation, secured supply contracts with major FMCG companies such as Tiger Brands and Rhodes Foods. Responsibilities included setting strategic priorities, reviewing performance reports from a locally based portfolio manager, and conducting quarterly site visits (with team members) to engage directly with farmers, community leaders, and commercial partners.
